Andalucia holiday at Easter.. Just4You..

3-10 April 2010 (Sat to Sat), Competa, Andalucia, Southern Spain
Price: £659 Single supplement if required £60 Local payment 145 €**
Andalucia in Southern Spain is one of the prettiest areas of Spain. We stay in Competa, one of the white mountain villages in the Tejeda National Park, just an hour's drive from Malaga airport. The area is great for walking in the Sierras Tejeda and Almijarra with stunning scenery and views down to the sea and on a clear day to Morocco. Walks will take you through groves of olives, oranges, lemons, avocados, almonds and the muscatel grape, which is used to make the famous Competa wine. Competa is also known for its honey from bees, whose hives you will spot on the mountain walks. You will be captivated by butterflies, which can be seen taking pollen from the many varieties of wild flowers. The area is lush and green due to the system of irrigation channels used to water the terraces, where the villagers grow vegetables. Mules are still used to carry produce and wood for the fires. Life here is very peaceful and relaxing.
We stay in several village houses in Competa all are close to the Plaza in the centre of the village. Some are several hundred years old. There are twin rooms, and some singles (subject to supplement). In the evenings, we eat out together in one of the many restaurants, which serve excellent food, with typical Andalucian dishes. The wine is good and cheap too.
The area is great for walking and great for photography. Jackie will be on hand to lead a walk on most days, Steve will be on hand to offer advice on photography, whether you have a digital or manual SLR or compact camera. The area offers numerous photographic opportunities; whitewashed villages with their whitewashed walls, windows, doorways, roofs and narrow streets; Mountain scenery offers a wonderful landscape with olive trees, orange groves, spring flowers and all are within easy walking. Steve will be on hand to offer help and advice in the form of in-the-field talks, demonstrations, one-to-ones, review sessions and discussions.
We can visit the pretty whitewashed village of Frigiliana with narrow streets and Nerja on the coast, which are within easy reach. There will be an optional excursion to Granada and a visit to the Moorish Alhambra palace with its intricately carved ceilings and arches.
The price includes flights, transfers to and from Malaga airport in Spain, accommodation, breakfast, evening meals and picnic lunches. (Breakfast and picnic lunches will be on a self-serve basis but all the ingredients for continental breakfast and picnic lunch will be provided. Each morning fresh bread will be delivered to your house.) Evening meals are included and taken together in local restaurants. Prices are based on 2 sharing a twin room. Flights are from Gatwick, Manchester or Birmingham but may also be available from other regional airports on request. Your Just for You holiday Coordinators for the week will be Jackie and Steve.

Tuscany is a beautiful region of Italy, with spectacular scenery, historical cities and art treasures in almost every village. We stay in Albiano, near Barga in the Garfagna (enchanted wood) area of Northern Tuscany situated between the Appennines and the Alpi Apuan. Albiano is a small hillside village with views across the valley below to the mountains beyond. The way of life in the village has changed little over the centuries and farming is small scale and labour-intensive. The privately-run 2 star hotel in which we stay is also the local bar, village shop and has a lovely swimming pool with stunning views. Everything is cooked in-house from fresh local ingredients. Even the pasta is cooked in-house and they have their own wine. The area offers great opportunities for walks from the hotel as well as more energetic walks in the surrounding hills and mountains. The landscape offers treasures, such as medieval villages and spectacular views over the green surrounding countryside. Flora and fauna abound and ancient forests remain. The average maximum daily temperature at this time of year is 28, with an average of 8 hours sunshine per day and, because the area is lush and there are many forests, even high up on the hillsides, giving plenty of shade on the walks.
Walking is on good tracks, often mule tracks or forest tracks. There will be a walk on 5 days, walking time per day is between 4-6 hours. We walk in the Orecchiella Natural Park on one day. The walks are moderate at a leisurely pace but involve up-hill climbs with between 1,500 and 2,800 ft of ascent, and around 5-9 miles with a choice of walk on some days. We take a day out to visit Florence or if you prefer, Lucca, a beautiful walled city just over an hour away by train.

Moroccan Adventure.. Just4You..

10-17 June 2010 Price £729 single supplement if required is £85 (single occupancy only in Marrakech and Essaouira, accommodation in Imlil is shared)
Local Payment Dh1150 (approx £70)
Morocco
Red mud-baked Kasbahs beneath the stunning Atlas mountains. Seething souks; lively bazaars; vibrant colours; wonderful smells and exotic experiences; nowhere is as fascinating and bewildering as Morocco, a country full of contrasting images and sights. Morocco offers an exciting, enchanting, uniquely African experience less than 4 hours flying time from the UK.
This trip is especially for those of you with a sense of adventure. We have put together a magical Moroccan adventure with a taste of everything; the bustling city of Marrakech, the simple Berber lifestyle in the mountains and the lovely seaside fishing village, old port and beach resort of Essaouira.
Marrakech
We fly to Marrakech and spend two nights Half Board in a traditionally-designed but newly-built Riad with swimming pool, a few kilometres outside of Marrakech with en suite rooms. Riad M'Hidou has a swimming pool and is a peaceful haven. During the day we will organise a trip into the bustling city of Marrakech, and take a look around the souks, bazaars and market stalls in the Medina. We will marvel at the story-tellers, colourful water sellers, the snake charmers and acrobats before returning for a dip in the pool and our evening meal in the peace and tranquillity of our Riad (2 nights Half Board).
Berber village life
We then transfer to the foothills of the High Atlas mountains and stay in a Gite (village house) with a local family. Here the accommodation will be shared and basic. We will see how other people live in the world. The welcome is wonderful and hospitable. You will need to bring sleeping bags. All our food is prepared for us by our hosts and is freshly-made from local produce. Vegetarians, as well as meat eaters, can enjoy the traditional tajines (meat, fish or vegetable dishes cooked in traditional conical-shaped pots), couscous, salads, rice as well as great soups and fresh fruits (2 nights Full Board).
Gifts for the Berber children
When we stay in the Berber village we have arranged an opportunity to give some small gifts to the children of the village. You can bring some children's clothes that are no longer required or some pens, pencils and paper for use in the school. (Most children go to school, except around harvest time, when they are needed in the fields.)
Essaouira
The adventure continues when we visit the old port and fishing village of Essaouira, once the base for pirates, and in the 60s a hippy hangout and favourite of Jimi Hendrix. Essaouira is now a great place to explore the narrow streets or enjoy the wide sandy beach. The resort welcomes visitors, many Moroccans holiday there. This is a far cry from the more touristy beach resorts. From here we take a trip out to Sidi Kaouaki for a camel ride (2 nights Full Board).
The Mystery and Magic of Marrakech
For our last night we return to the magic of Marrakech. This time we will stay in a Riad right in the heart of the old city (Medina) of Marrakech and have a last chance to haggle for treasures from the souks. The rooms in the Riad are arranged around a courtyard. All the rooms are en suite. The food in the Riad is superb and the buffet breakfast offers a wide choice of hot and cold options. Sadly this will be our last night before our departure the following day (1 night Half Board).
